About
Hello! My name is Caton McFadden, and I live with my family
in Brooklyn, NY. I grew up moving from country to country.
I love meeting people and learning about their
languages, traditions, and cultures.

I hold a BA in History from the College of William and Mary,
a TESOL certification from the School for International
Training and an MEd from George Mason University.
I teach, train volunteers, develop collaborative design projects,
and write curricula for two non-profit organizations:
the Brooklyn Public Library and the Henry Street Settlement.
Teaching Philosophy
Learning should be respectful, meaningful, and joyful. Respectful - I welcome and appreciate everything our adult students bring to the classroom. Meaningful - I design lessons around the needs of our learners. Joyful - learning should be fun.
My classrooms are inclusive, practical, culturally responsive, and promote friendship and community.
